That Art Thou

　Oshoの年代順講話ワークがほぼ完成する。ネットのSannyas Wikiより得た情報からではほぼ完璧なものだと思う。
これからわかる興味深いことは、1974年のプネーに移るまでのムンバイを拠点とした講話では、話す場所と内容がほぼ決まっていること。
71年から74年まで瞑想キャンプは8回行われているが、そこで語られた講話はほとんどがウパニシャッドについてのもの。特にラジャスタンのマウント・アブでの瞑想キャンプは6回行われている。

　前にOsho TimesのNo.91 特集◎過去生で、冒頭の講話「夢見、目覚め、夢のない眠り」が、「カイヴァリヤ・ウパニシャッド」について語ったもので、英語版が出版される、と書かれてあり、これが興味があって、この英語版の本が何か知りたかったのだが、
このリストで「That Art Thou」であることがわかった。この本は所有している。

　That Art ThouとFlight of the Alone to the Aloneの講話が、期日が同日でありながら内容が違う問題について・・・

　OSHO Source Bookの 3.7 瞑想キャンプから～

　　P8 マテランのリーガルホテルは、1972年1月8日から1週間続く新しい瞑想キャンプの場所であり、そこでOshoはサルヴァサール・ウパニシャッドについて解説していた。これらの17の講話は後に英語で出版され、「アートマンはブラフマンであり、自己は万物と一体である」という意味のThat Art Thou (1987) に含まれている。That Art Thouには、1972年1月、3月、10月にアブ山の瞑想キャンプとマテランで、バグワン・シュリ・ラジニーシがサルヴァサール・ウパニシャッド、カイヴァリヤ・ウパニシャッド、アドヤートマ・ウパニシャッドについて行った51の講話が収められている。
　これらの講話はヒンディー語と英語であり、Osho が英語で話した最初の瞑想キャンプでのもので、本にはこれらのキャンプからの白黒の写真が数枚掲載されている。これらの初期の講話は、ここでヒンディー語から編集および翻訳され、序文で言及されている翻訳者のメモから、これらの講話の翻訳過程がかなり困難なものであったことがわかる。　

　　P9 バグワンは、古代インドの知恵の最も貴重な宝であるウパニシャッドを一つ選んで話すことを選択した。最初はヒンディー語で、後には瞑想キャンプに現れ始めたばかりの西洋人のために英語で話していた。　・・・このキャンプでは、バグワンはヒンディー語で1時間、英語で45分話すことになっていた。

　・・・つまり、Oshoは同日に同じウパニシャッドについてヒンディー語と英語の両方で講話していた。だから同日のヒンディー語と英語の講話の内容は違っていて、英語の講話はヒンディー語のものより短いわけだ。

　These discourses were given during the first meditation camps in which Osho spoke in English. Each of the book's 51 short chapters covers a different theme based on the sutra being discussed, and translates its ancient wisdom into the language of today. The book includes photographs never before released, of Osho and the meditation camps, and the complete text of his instructions as he leads Dynamic Meditation, one of the most profound techniques available to seekers today.
